Exhibition Report: Assembly & Mounting Process Technology Exhibition Nagoya

Nihon Plasmatreat exhibited at MUSUBI Nagoya, held in July 2024.

Nihon Plasmatreat exhibited at Assembly & Mounting Process Technology Exhibition, held at Fukiage Hall, Nagoya City Small and Medium Enterprise Promotion Hall, from July 10 (Wed) to 11 (Thu), 2024. The exhibition serves as an important opportunity to showcase the latest assembly and mounting technologies and explore current industry trends. This year again, the event attracted many visitors and provided a valuable venue for technical exchange and new business opportunities.

About the Exhibition

Assembly & Mounting Process Technology Exhibition focuses on labor-saving solutions for manual work in SMT processes and practical measures for defect reduction. Automation solutions are displayed along the production line to propose realistic integrated and automated solutions suited to customers’ manufacturing sites.

Exhibits at Our Booth

At our booth in the atmospheric-pressure plasma treatment zone, we presented the SPT4, an atmospheric-pressure plasma treatment system integrated with a two-axis robot. The SPT4 features easy operation, allowing users to set irradiation speed and treatment pitch without the need for conventional complex teaching. By adopting a moving nozzle-head system, it can also process heavy workpieces. The treatment speed can be set from 1 to 840 mm/s, and the pitch from 1 to 99 mm, making it suitable as an experimental system as well.

We also displayed sample applications from backend semiconductor substrate manufacturing processes, along with plasma nozzle heads designed for a variety of treatments. These exhibits attracted strong interest from visitors.

In the dispensing zone, we also unveiled for the first time a collaborative system developed together with Alpha Design Co., Ltd. This system enables a continuous process from atmospheric-pressure plasma treatment to conformal coating application. By sharing the housing with an automatic dispensing system, it achieves efficient processing. Although it was presented as a reference exhibit, it is also available for sale as an actual system.

To allow visitors in the dispensing zone to experience the effects of plasma treatment firsthand, we also displayed and demonstrated an atmospheric-pressure plasma treatment system. During the demonstrations, plasma treatment was applied to test pieces made of various materials, including resins such as PP, PC, and PA, as well as metals and silicone, allowing visitors to see the effects of cleaning and surface modification.
